Post scripts

Does anyone know how to write a script for starting a daemon (apache) at bootup and to shutdown a daemon during runlevel 0 shutdown. I would aprecaite also if some one can tell me what command to use to find out what daemons are running.

Thanks

Mike

man ps
man top
Now, to make apache start up on boot up we need more info, such as what distro are we talking about? Where's apache? Is apache a part of initial system install or you added it later?

Could always try installing and using Webmin. I am finding this a pretty cool tool. However, it's always good to know what script does what etc, I just find this a good starting point.
