Screenshots of Linux
Does any one have a screenshot of Linux working?
|
well yes I could do some of my own but I think is is more like joke?
U could also check google picture search... here is one very nice: http://webpages.charter.net/bdube/Im.../snapshot1.jpg |
lots of...what do you want to see? Gnome? KDE? some window manager like Fluxbox, Waimea or TWM? just google for them, go to their sites and look...some sites (like the one of gDesklets') has some screenshots where a normal desktop (like Gnome for instance) has been tweaked a bit to look better. I advice you to google for gDesklets and surt to the page and check out..

Well for SuSE, start here:
http://www.suse.com/us/private/produ...nterfaces.html All distro websites should have some screenshot sections... |
a screenshot of "linux" is a complete misnomer. Even a screenshot of a given distribution makes me fall on the floor laughing.
Why do I use slackware? It has no screenshots section of it's website. All other distros tend to have screenshots, and GUESS WHAT, THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME. Because it's not a screenshot of the distribution at all, it's a screenshot OF KDE. (or GNOME). If you want to pick an OS based on a screenshot, use windows. edit: just for good measure have an unhelpful screenshot http://sis.bris.ac.uk/~rc3872/desktop2.png |
ok, how do you take screen shots in linux and were are they stored?

To some folks a screenshot is a way of art and an expression of your creativity. You'll notice some screenhsots are the same with defualt themes and applications.
But others are unique and some poeple put a lot of work into thoose. Try for instance the screenshots at lynucs.org. Screenshots can be very and sometimes even overly informative, but if you see an application you like and don't know where to find it you can always ask the owner of the screenshot. |
if u want to see screenshots then look at this huge thread
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ht=screenshots i use ksnapshot to take sceenshots and theres an option in gimp to take a sceenshot |
