Either use the gimp

File > Acquire

oir maybe even the import command or something to capture a screenshot.

And yes, you had the wrong forum so I moved this to Newbie.

If you have gnome installed, search for a tool into the menus. You can also type directly at the konsole:

gnome-panel-screenshot

That would do the trick. I use BlackBox myself and, I could bind that command above to my printscreen key so it works really nice .

Good Luck

You can try:
xwd -root | xwud

which will give you an image big as your screen.

But I have no idea how to save output of xwd into a jpg (or anything like that) file to be able to see it in an image viewer.

xwd -root | xwdtopnm > screenshot.pnm would save as a .pnm/pbm file.

Of course, you could xwd -root | xwdtopnm | pnmtojpeg > screenshot.jpg to go direct to jpeg.

Use the run command box and type:
import -window root screen.jpg
Use the Run command box so the xterm doesnt show up in the screen shot...unless you want it to.
There's also KSnapshot in the Multimedia>graphics menu.

Came as part of the netpbm package - default part of Mandrake. Converts virtually anything to pbm, and pbm to virtually anything.
