Screen Resolution?
Hi
I'm having probelems wit my screen resolution, and I'm guessing my x server. It wont let me go above 1024 x 786 but I know that my card and monitor can handle 1280 * 1024 (I've used it before while running Mandrake and in Windows). Is there any way to set it so that it allows KDE, Gnome, XFCE (they all report max as 1024 x 786) to go higher? I really dont like everything this big ;) Any help would be great. |
First, which distribution are you currently running (are you still running Mandrake)? This will help us to determine the easiest way for you to configure it. Mandrake, Suse, and other distributions include graphical utilities to configure X, while for other distributions you may need to run xf86config or perhaps even edit the XF86Config file by hand.

Sorry, I'm currently running Slackware 10.1.
xf86config returns comamnd not found... :newbie: |
I think the command might be: "xorgconfig"
