screen flicker after changing resolutions

I tried to change my desktop resolution through kde and my mouse stopped working any my screen looked really bad... I got my mouse working again but i'm trying to fix my screen still... Whenever i type something, or scroll or anything like that, the screen flickers... Kind of like some of the pixels are shifting to the right... It's at 1600x1200 at 85hz, and i know my monitor supports that...

Heres my xf86config

1600x1200 @85 Hz may be too high for the RAMDACs on many older cards. What is that ATi card you have in there?

Well, you won't find me much help at all, as I'm very new to Linux...

You could try lowering the refresh to 75 Hz, or even 72 Hz if you can stand it

If your xf86config that you posted contains version info, it escaped me, but that really doesn't say much. You could find that info and see if it's the latest version of xfree86, and if it's not, update/grade. ATi doesn't offer official Linux drivers for the 7000.

Good luck.
