scanner cannon f650 not being recognized by mandriva 2007

with scanner being a small unit, will a driver be written to support the device? or should I look for another scanner? (fb650u)

That scanner is not listed as supported by Sane. Here is the link.

From my experience, don't wait for a driver to be written. Look for a scanner that is supported now.

Sane is the best source for support information for linux.
