scan incoming mail ony

I have a centos 6.2 server running:
sendmail-8.14.4-8.el6.i686
mimedefang.i686
spamassassin-3.3.1-2.el6.i686

This setup I have works great in filtering and rejecting spam but I don't know how to configure it so that only incoming mail gets scanned. I don't want outgoing mail to be scanned. Which file is it I need to edit? sendmail.mc? mimedefang-filter? local.cf? sa-mimedefang.cf? I did a search on google before posting but couldn't find any straightforward info about how to do this. Thanks for any pointers.

Hi,

I don't know how mimedefang works, but you can use procmail to scan incoming mail through spamassassin. Procmail usually comes with sendmail in order to deliver mail to users mailboxes.
So for this seup to work, you need to add in /etc/procmailrc:
Code:
DROPPRIVS=yes

:0fw
| /usr/bin/spamc
See "Sitewide filtering" here for details.

Regards

my server tells me I have procmail-3.22-25.1.el6.i686 already installed but there is no /etc/procmailrc file. mimedefang's job is to reject email that spamassassin scores as spam. The setup I have does a fantastic job in keeping spam out of my server so I really think it's one of the existing files I need to edit, I'm unsure about introducing additional files when the current setup works so well. There must be a way to edit my existing setup so that only incoming mail is scanned.
