SB audigy issues and networking

I have tried running linux redhat 9.0 with kernel 2.4 and mandrake 10.0 community and i am having trouble with a couple things... first which is more discerning. I am running a netgear lan card fa311 and i can't get the driver to work with either of the Os which i am assuming it's the kernel. It won't detect an ip address or even allow me to connect to the router which is the mn614v2 netgear... the both work excellent in my win xp (don't shoot for me mentioning it) so i know it's not the cards. any suggestion would help. in another forum i know someone else is having the same problem.

second.. i have a sound blaster audigy which the system recogize but it fails to work when going to use it with a cd or anything.. which i just picked up UT2004 and would love to use it in linux instead of windows but i need to fix my audgy first.

thanks in advance
