SaveTo /Download /Folder Locations

Hey there,

I'm new to the Linux world..and getting the hang of it rather quickly.

Using Gnome with Mandrake 9.1 -- I want to download a few desktop backgrounds I found on the net.

The main thing which also pertains to just about anything I download, where do I put it?

Where should I put images? or RPMs? or anything else?

Where should I download things to?

Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

standard would be making a downloads directory

in your home directory, and putting stuff there.

wherever you want really ... just so long as you can find them

Your home directory, or maybe, if you're dualbooting, a shared partition.
