Samsung YP-MT6 weird space problem

Hi,
new to Linux, and finally everything seems to be okay.
However Ubuntu says i'm not the owner of my my Samsung mp3/ogg device.
When I delete, things are just stored on the device in a trash folder.
This would not be so much of a problem as the device can delete it's own files and format itself, however after that the device says it has 950+ Mb free and the disks information application in Ubuntu says the same, but I can't copy any files onto it as the file manager says only 44k is free, even though that's wrong.

Also I'd like to know how to manage the files mnt and unmnt through amaroK. What commands do i have to type.

Grateful for any help, at present I can't put music on the device so no music for me

Peace

Hamish

This sounds like a basic permissions issue. What is the actual device (/dev/whatever) that you're trying to write to?

it's a digital music device
yeah the problem was permissions,
which are a little bit of a hassle
and also the trash function
like when i delete them it stored everything
in a trash folder that i couldn't see on the device
but problem is solved
I just reopen the folder and delete the trash
2 steps but now everything is okay
