Samba - XP close!

I have come from knowing nothing about server to almost getting it all setup and running with PHP and mySQL...just one more glitch....

i have 5 computers on this network and for some reasonwe can't edit files on the server. the machines can view all the files but don't seem to have write privilleges.

i know there is something with windows must have a username and password that matches, but as it is right now i have it setup so that anyone can access the server from the i shouldn't need to workk about users right?

any advice would be much appriciated..thanks!

I'm assuming your server is Linux. I would suggest you have a look at two commands in Linux Wiki. Look at chmod and chown. These commands allow you to change ownership and permissions. Permissions include read/write/execute. There are some examples. It sounds like the remote user does not have write permission.

Hope this gets you going.
