Samba volume limit?
I'm unable to find the answer to the question: Is there a limit to the volume size that Samba can manage?
If I had a server with 10 terabytes or more of file space on a Red Hat system -would Samba manage it as easily as 20 gigs of space? Thank you. David |
I don't think samba cares about volume size. It just sits between the filesystem and the network.

Thanks for the info Matir. My boss is now talking about a 300 terabyte Redhat system with Samba, but he likes to exagerate.

I feel reasonably confident that Samba should be able to handle the task. Perhaps you could slip me a few TB of hard drives? ;)
I'd love to be able to work on that kind of stuff. I note from your info that you are not far from me... are you guys a largely Linux shop? |
