samba version
Just a quick question: how do I check what version of Samba is installed on my system?

smbclient -V

Sweet, thanks.
|
or this other way:
in the shell ; rpm -q samba-server samba-client |
little_ball, not everyone uses distros which make use of RPMs :)
Ohh, and one more thing... RPMs are evil! :p :D |
sorry :P
well yeah, not all distro uses rpm, like not all distros uses deb, tgz, or whatever, but a lot of distros uses rpm, but, if the newbie in fact here use something like mandrake or redhat or similar, he can use the rpm stuff, just a little doubt, why rpm are evils????
|
I can definitely see how rpms are evil, but for a n00b like me, sometimes they are a necessary evil. I'll ween myself off of them eventually.
