Samba Server with Macintosh & WIN Clients
Hello,
I have a Fedora Core 8 Samba Server in a mixed environment of WIN XPP and Macintosh 10.4 and 10.5 clients.
The Problem: When Macintosh clients create folders in Share(s) it does not assign group create and delete privileges. Works o.k. with files but, not folders.
Works correctly for WIN clients, Both Folders and Files.
Here is an example of the current smb.conf
[Public]
comment = Public Files
path = /Public
writeable = yes
create mask = 0770
create mode = 0770
force create mode = 0770
directory mode = 0770
force directory mode = 0770
valid users = larry moe curly
force group = staff
Running testparm I noticed that it ignores create mode but, has no errors. Haven't had this problem with previous distros. What is different or missing that would affect the Mac users in FC 8? Hope some light can be shed on this problem. Thanks in advance for your help!
