Hi, in RHEL5 i am configure a samba serever as default setting smb.conf , the security also using the default "user". i have already add the samba user on smbpasswd. Now i am using winxp pc to visit this samba server, i can connect to the server, than prompt the username&password, i finish key-in the username&password than i can enter the my user home directory. But when i close the windows browser, than i key-in \\mysambaserver than why i no need to key-in the password again? until i reboot my winxp pc, then \\mysambaserver than asking username and password. I want to evertime keyin \\mysambaserver than prompt to asking me the username and password, how to configure it?

Is windows-browser saving your password?
Have you tried connecting to the samba share from network neighborhood?

The samba server is requesting a userid and password every time. It's your Windows that save your userid and password in cache and automatically login to your samba server for you.
