Samba problems

Here is my dilemma. I loaded my box with Mandrake Linux 9.0 running samba 2.2.6 pre2.2 mdk and I want to use my NT PDC to authenticate logons. I have set up Samba and can see my new Linux box through network neighborhood. I then joined the domain with no issues. The problem I have is that when I use wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g everything works great. I get a list of “Domain+users/groups”. But when I use wbinfo –t I get an error that says “secret is bad”. I have read many message boards and have deleted the secret.tdb file but I can not find my “MACHINE.SID” file.
I then upgraded samba to 2.2.7a .Once I did that I could not seem to keep 2.2.6 from loading so I uninstalled 2.2.6 and then was unable to start smbd or nmbd. Any Ideas would be most helpful.
