Samba ignore the page configuration from Win XP
 

Hi, I am trying to print from windows xp clients and when i change to duplex or 1 side they just take the original configuration in the server. I mean, if i have the option duplex available (on) in the server and I try to print anyway fron windows clients, always print duplex (even if i put just 1 side) and I have the optin duplex off (in the server) always print 1 sude, even if I set the clients with duplex.

Somebody have any idea what happen???

Welcome to LQ. I think we'll need a little more information. So you have printer connected to a Linux server running Samba? Are you printing using CUPS on the Linux machine? Are your Windows machines using their local drivers to print, or drivers on the server?

In Windows, the specific program print settings (Word, Excel, etc) will override the default printer configuration settings in Windows.

We use our Samba/CUPS server as a print server, but use local Windows drivers on the client machines and send RAW print streams to the print server. This is configured in CUPS.

Yes I have installed Samba and Cups.I had configutared:
/etc/cups/mime.convs
application/octet-stream application/vnd.cups-raw
/etc/cups/mime.types
application/octet-stream.

I don't know if i need to confiurate something else but still is is not working

I am using the drivers from the server and that's happen whit any program

HI Dears,

Finally i resolve this problem. I just add one line in smb.conf

cups options = raw and work.

But still I have problem printing form windows with abode writer 8 and using driver from the server doesn't work, just print the first page.

I I use driver from windows is ok, but i really need to use drivers form the server.

Any idea?
