samba help

Hi,
i am mandrake 10.0 have a problem with samba,the error is

[staff@Simlab-node5 staff]$ su
Password:
[root@Simlab-node5 staff]# smbmount //workgroup/sambaserver /home/staff/mnt/remote/ -o username=staff
7468: Connection to workgroup failed
SMB connection failed
[root@Simlab-node5 staff]#

what is the wrong in this? what should i edit? need ur help ..

smbmount //sambaserver/share /home/staff/mnt/remote/ -o username=staff,workgroup=workgroup

smbmount can be replaced by mount -t smbfs

lemme know if that helps...
