ok , there are two rpms files that are missing. according to one of many step by step pdf's out there
I'm sopposed to run the
sh makerpms.sh
iit goes through its steps and according to the pdf it creates two directories
/usr/src/redhat/rpms/i386/ and the rpms are sopposed to be here (they are not)
the other path
/usr/src/redhat/srpms/ and the rpms are sopposed to be here (they are not)
where are these rpms??????????? I trying to compile samba 3.0.10 what am I doing wrong. I loaded
Fedora Core 2 as a workstation maybe I should have loaded it as a server, but by installing samba it should still run samba right or not. N-E ways if anybody can help I would greatly apriciate it.

just install samba through the prebuilt rpm's on your fedora cd's.... much easier than compilng via rpm, which is a mess.

Will installing from the cds conflict with what is half done already. Please excuse my ignorance how do i iniciate the cd install.
