Question S450 Printer on Mandrake 9.1

I set up my Canon S450 printer using the GIMP (CUPS + GIMP-Print v.4.2.5) driver included with the distro. Everything prints alright with two little exceptions. One, the driver is horrendously slow and two, it only prints the first page. I get a bit ahead of myself. The connection is via SAMBA to a local Win98 box my boss uses (he still has yet to see the light). Is this a driver issue, a SAMBA issue, or am I just a jackass who didn't config it right.

It is slow in my experience as well. With the pages issue I can't tell anything, since I don't use the GIMP-driver anymore (and forgot what I installed instead). Search for alternatives.
