S.U.S.E 9 Install Freeze

Hi, I have just purchased a copy of suse 9 pro from a local book store, when i try to install, it just freezes. if i press F2 to see info, its freezes when it gets to ide.1.5 reading info. I had a similar problem with RH9 where it freezes when probing the USB, but i'm guessing it may be something to do with the Via on board usb. Can anyone provide n e info

I'm not sure what motherboard it is, i just know it is VIA.
