Running windows programs with Wine
Is it possible to run programs already installed on my windows partition with wine or do i have to have 2 seperate installed one for windows and one for linux? I have winex installed.

you should install them again into your home directory or copy them from your windows installation to your fake windows install directory
*man, lots of wine questions today.... |
What about DLLs?
How can you copy a windows program? I thought windows programs used dlls from all over the place. If you just copied your installed program wouldn't it barf when it looked for the dlls it used from the windows directory, or whatever.
I am looking to install wine on my linux system and this is one aspect that has puzzled me. |
It's best to install into a fake windows drive, however some installers do not function correctly in Wine. It's possible to set your c:\ drive to point to your real windows drive, and run apps from there, but be aware this may not work as well.
