Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hello. I have set up a computer that I want to perform one task on (for now). Host a dedicated game server (its a long story). I'm running Fedora Core 3 and do not know how to use scripts. I do have the game running but it crashes with a segmentation fault after awhile. I have toyed with VNC so that I might be able to remote in and restart the game but I'm not always near a computer nor do I always know when it crashes. The server files came with what I thought was a script that will restart the game and give me a date and time as to when is crashed.
The filename for the script is Run_Linux_FMIII_DedServ.sh
The server restarted during the night (another segmentation fault). The script did not restart the server though. Here is the reponse from the program:
./Run_Linux_FMIII_DedServ.sh: line 7: ./Run_Linux_FMIII_DedServ.sh: Permission denied
