Question Running Mint on a Chromebook


Running Mint on an HP Chromebook,
If I install a linux distro on my HP Chromebook using crouton it installs and runs but when I switch back to Chrome it disappears. It just vanishes. Poof! Is there a better way to install on a chromebook?

1. What model is your chromebook (chromebook name, kip, falco, spring, wolf, etc.)?
2. Do you want to keep a dual boot or run Mint only?

I can't help you regarding that matter but I suggest you use another username because:
  • here at LQ we don't answer questions by email so anybody can read answers for similar issues (s)he can have,
  • any spammer could grab your email address as it's a public forum.
Of course, the final decision is up to you

why use crouton.
apparently one can install a full linux on chromebooks nowadays.

You don't need crouton. Just wipe Chrome OS and do a full install. You just need to look at this
