running linux on N810 beside nokias distro
I knw the device uses nokia's internet tablet os which is based on linux. However with the kernel updating so often, I was wondering if there are any distros that can be ran on this device natively. It uses an arm processor if am not mistaken.

Maybe...
I'm not quite sure what you mean.

If you want to run a regular desktop distribution on the Nokia, I don't believe this is easy, if possible at all. **Note: I'm not sure about this; will someone with more experience please confirm/dispute?** If you are looking for distributions that are designed for the Nokia, check out: Moblin: Not sure if the Nokia has a USB port, if it does go to http://moblin.org/documentation/run-...netbook-or-mid or if it doesn't go to http://moblin.org/documentation/project/34. Ubuntu Mobile: Not sure if your system specs will fit, but there's more information at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MobileTeam/M...ileAndEmbedded More links are located at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/Mobile_Linux Hope this helps! computer_freak_8 |
