Slackware is not a Live CD distribution. If you want a Slackware based live cd, then download Slax.

Slackware is designed to be installed. If you want the Slack experience on a live cd, you need Slax.

As far as burning the ISO, be sure to burn is as an image file. A basic drag-and-drop copy won't work; it must be burned as an ISO image |
http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answers/LQ_ISO has instructions for burning an iso - in short, if you end up with a disc containing a single file ending in .iso, you did it wrong :)
