running Linux from a CD-ROM as an Internet Browser

Anybody familiar how to get Linux to run from a CD-ROM as an Internet Browser. Is there a software package to buy that has the Netscape on it? This needs to have Shockwave and Flash as well. This is for handicapped children. Any good sites that have this info?

Thanks!

There are versions of linux that run off of cd's but most of them are just rescue cd's. I haven't seen any which are specifically for browsing. I don't think it will be very efficient though unless you have a fast internet connection. Because you are running everything from cd the only thing you will have to write to is memory. So you won't be able to have a very large cache. That wouldn't make it impossible but just less efficient. I suppose if you are running just an explorer you can use a very minimal window manager which will save you a lot of memory.

I think you should be looking into the direction of building your own custom linux distribution for that though.
