running LAMPon Dual Boot Mdrake/XP
I'm setting up a laptop as a dual XP Mandrake.
I have a FAT32 partition which will be accessable to both OSs where I will keep my data. I need to know about where to put mysql and php.
Obviously Apache will need to be installed on both OS partitions, and I assume PHP and MySql as well --
The main thing I want is to let MySql share the database for both partitions. So, how do I do this? Should I install MySql on both partitions, and then can I set it up to store the actual db files on the shared partition? That way each OS can read/write the same data.
to do this, do i just install it o both partitions and then point the datadir config var to somewhere on the shared drive? Can it be this easy?
Is this possible? Any insight would be much appreciated!
