run script

Hi, I am trying to install the ActiveTcl8.4.2.0 (whatever that means), and I already unTared it, and it says to "run" the script, but I dont know how! Like, I use RH9 so I open the folder in the file manager and double click on the script, and it only opens it as it were a txt file. i do not know how to run it from a terminal either. Please help!

Okay so what is the suffix of the file? Is it or something.bin? If so you should be able to simply open up a terminal and type:

and it should execute. If it doesn't then make it executable by doing:

chmod u+x
