Run a javascript in mandriva 2005 limited edition

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie.
When I was using windows, I often use javascript to automatically do something.
Since I switch to linux, I found that I don't support java, I have heard about shell script, but I don't know how to use it. I am loyal to java, I want to use java on my linux box.
Please help me

JavaScript and Java are completely different things with nothing to do with each other. If you want JavaScript, you can run it in any browser. If you want Java, just download it from Sun.
