rsync error

Quote:
mount -a
mount -t cifs //10.10.31.10/"Astra Bessemer"/Hunter_Logs /home/hunter/logs -o credentials=/etc/junk
cp -ra /media/hunter/LOGGING "/home/hunter/Documents/LOGGING-$(date +"%m-%d-%y-%r")"
rsync - avz /Documents/LOGGING /home/hunter/logs
returns:

Quote:
rsync: link_stat "/home/hunter/-" failed: No such file or directory (2)
rsync: link_stat "/home/hunter/avz" failed: No such file or directory (2)
rsync: change_dir "/Documents" failed: No such file or directory (2)
rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1183) [sender=3.1.1]
What in the world is happening? This seems to me like it should be working.

Why do you have a space between "-" and "avz"?

Code:
rsync - avz
surely should be

Code:
rsync -avz

Also, why are you trying to rsync /Documents/LOGGING, shouldn't that be /home/hunter/Documents/LOGGING?

And you should verify you actually want compression. Over a LAN it will probably just slow things down due to the compression overhead.
