rsync and ssh?

I'm trying to setup a cron job to rsync a few things to another computer. I understand I can do this command.

rsync /home/ichbin/www/ -ave ssh root@xx.xx.x.xx:/home/ichbin/backup

Is there anyway I can have it pass the password along in this command? So that I don't have to type in the password.

Or is there a better way to do this?

with regards to the ssh part, you can use other forms of authentication, based on keys etc.

read up or man ssh to find out how to do the public key authentication option.

Theres a good article or thread on LQ about this...misplaced bookmark sadly...

hope this helps though...
