RPMs from other distros

I was just wondering if its ever safe to use rpms from another distribution, such as a Fedora rpm, in RedHat?

You shouldn't mix around rpms, install an rpm that is fit for your distro and version.

You *might* get lucky. You *might* totally hose your OS. More likely something in between. If the risk is worth it, you might want to give it a try. But don't be upset when it doesn't work right, or screws up your system so bad you need to reinstall.

Best bet is to stick with your distro and version.
