rpmbuild rebuild running for long time

I started rpmbuild rebuild for openoffice and it' been running over 24 hours!
Does that seem right? The terminal screen continues to display data from the program stuff running.
Thanks for any help.

For OpenOffice it's possible. It depends on the machine you use, of course, but it can take a number of days. That's why not many people decide to compile it.
