rpmbuild DISTRO= question
Hi,
I'm installing 3rd party software whose installation instructions say: #rpmbuild --rebuild --define DISTRO=REDHAT_AS_21 40002086_H.src.rpm I'm running RHEL6 (uname -r = "2.6.32-131.21.1.el6.x86_64") and am offered the following to use in the DISTRO= portion of the command: Red Hat 7.2 - REDHAT_72 Red Hat 7.3 - REDHAT_73 Red Hat 8 - REDHAT_8 Red Hat 9 - REDHAT_9 Red Hat ES 2.1 - REDHAT_ES_21 Red Hat AS 2.1 - REDHAT_AS_21 Red Hat AS 3 - REDHAT_AS_3, REDHAT_ES_3 Red Hat WS - REDHAT_WS_3 Any clues as to which, if any, actually mean RHEL6? I've scoured the forums for an answer to this and have found nothing. Thanks! -Brad |

Hi BradMarks,
None of the given options points to RHEL6. The options that they have given are quite older versions of Red Hat. I would suggest you to check with third party if you there applications is compatible with RHEL6. If yes, then let them suggest you as to what you need to put in distro section. |
Thanks
I've submitted this question to the supplier of this 3rd party software. Hopefully they'll have an appropriate answer.
Thanks for your help. -Brad |

Solved!
...but can't find out how to actually mark a thread as solved. Somewhere I read that it was under 'tools', but I can't even find 'tools'!

When you open this thread in right hand side you will find "Thread Tools" drop down menu. Select Mark thread as solved from there. :-)
