RPM unpack error??????
Hey. I am having trouble with whole RPM thing. Everytime i try to update something or install something, i get RPM errors. forinstance i tried updating the core packages and then went to install them and got a message that said:
"There was a fatail RPM install error. THe message was: There was a rpm unpack error installing the package: kernel-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl" Can anyone help? Thanks so much!!! |
Which package did you try to install?
Where did you have downloaded the package? Can you give me the error in a console mode plz, just copy/past :) Like : rpm -Uvh name_of_rpm.rpm blablabla blalballa ERROR HERE .. Just copy that for help me to understand :) Also, what is your distro? Red Hat/Fedora/Mandrake? |
Hey , thanks for the help. im kinda new to linux so im just having some simple issues to work through. Im running the Fedora Core 1. and i was simply updating the entire system i believe,
# up2date that was waht i did. But even when i try to use up2date and some program, i get RPM errors... the packages it was installing was the kernel, kernel-2.4-22-1.2174.nptl and got a fatal RPM install error. Thanks |

Just remember www.google.com/linux is your best friend for Linux :) i have just tapped fatal rpm error.. It's a trick ^^ |
