Question Rpm? Srpm? Cvs?

Maybe somone could fill me in on a few things...

What is the difference between RPM and SRPM packages?

What is a "CVS version"?

Thx,

rpm = binary distribution
srpm = source rpm package (i.e. you need to compile it)
cvs = concurrent versions system. (online code editing, a way to get the very latest version of a system, but no guarentees it will compile.)

.rpm = files that should install nicely and you can run it straight away.
.srpm (or .src.rpm) = Almost as simple, but is actually the source files.
CVS = Somewhat more 'hardcore' than the others... sortof.
.tar.gz = Source code files, more common than the rpm source things.
.tar.bz2 = Same as above, but uses a different compresser... think difference between ZIP and RAR files?
