Talking rpm problem

Hi !!

I use RH 8.0 as root I issue the command:

[root@juanlin1 download]# rpm -i sharutils-4.2.1-12.src.rpm
warning: sharutils-4.2.1-12.src.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID db42a60e

Why it doesnt install the rpm?

also whan I sometimes download a piece of program I see something about MD5

what is it and how can I use it?

thanks very much !!

does it just hang at this point ??
or does the source extract to /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
you have to remember that your using a .src.rpm and not a normal .rpm file ...

Juanb, if you use ivh when installing a rpm, you will be able to see the progress as it is installed. eg rpm -ivh sharutils-4.2.1-12.rpm
As DrOzz pointed out, make sure you are installing the rpm file and not the source file.
