RPM package download location
 

I want to know where are the rpm packages downloaded before installation and how can I just download packages without installing them?

You haven't told us the package manager or distro.

yum, for example, downloads to /var/cache/yum/<repo>/packages, but this can be changed with --downloaddir=directory, and you can tell it to only download packages with --downloadonly. Other package managers will behave differently.

You've been pointed to the "Question Guidelines" before...and you really need to read them. You need to provide details about your system, and do basic research first, before posting. The answer(s) to this will depend on what version/distro of Linux you're using. Since you know that (and we don't), did you put your question into Google, and see what it returned?

RPM package downloads are stored in various places, and sometimes a person can store anything they download to a location which they specify. You need to provide some additional details as to how you are accessing RPM packages, what commands you are using to install, what distribution of Linux and what version you are using.

Please note that you have been using LQ for about a year. On the right side of the browser is a Main Menu pointing you to the helpful links for the Site FAQ and LQ Rules. Once again, if you persist in creating very short, broad-scoped, but uninformative questions, then the return you will receive on them are broad-scoped, unhelpful responses because people can't help you when you fire off a one line question with little additional details.
