RPM Kernerl source problems


Im trying to recompile my Nvidia driver so that it will work with the latest kernel in RedHat 9........ and its saing that it has failed dependencies with gcc 2.somthing..... if i update it to the latest which is 3.something,,, will it work, or will i have to install the specific version for it to work.... thanx

u should be ok updating to the latest version

If it fails again try looking at the log file again to see if it's complaining about the compiler the kernel was built with noth matching.

You could rebuild your kernel with the new compiler or use this..

./NV* IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH

oops, I just read the help file and that won't work.


do this..

export IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH=1

then I suggest running this..

./NV* --update
