RPM Installation error message

I had a RedHat 7.2 installed in HP Vl420. I have downloaded the rpm kernel-headers 2.2.16 from the net, and tried to install. But I am getting the following error message 'md5sum mismatch'. I tried downloading from two different sites, then also I am getting the same error message.

Please help me to solve the above problem.

Thanks

Are you checking the right MD5? I got that once, but had no problems after comparing filesizes. They matched, and the program ran fine. You may be running out of room wherever you are d/l it too, or don't have write permissions.

Use something else to d/l it with, maybe wget or another browser.

Also I think RH comes with something similar to debian's aptget (Ok go ahead and bash me debian fans, I am sure that's wrong) where it will get the correct package for you, maybe you could try that.

Cool

I have downloaded the kernel-headers2.4.9 for RH7.2 from the RedHat site
and tried to install. This time I am getting a different error message
Warning: Expected size : 1158036 =
lead(96)+sigs(149)+pad(3)+data(1157788)
Warning: Actual size : 1158027
1.kernel-headers : error unpacking of archive failed on the
file /usr/src/linux-2.2.16/include/linux/autoconf -up.h;3d58cd01 : cdio

MD5 sum mismatch

Then I have downloaded the kernel-source-2.4.18-5.i386.rpm from RedHat
site and tried to install. Then also I am getting the same MD5 sum
mismatch error.

I have downloaded the cpp-2.96-108.7.2.i386.rpm from RedHat site and
tried to install. Then also I am getting the same old MD5 sum mismatch
error.

I have tried to install the RPMs with
--nomd5 option, then also I am getting the same old md5 error.

Can anybody help me to solve the above problem.

Thanks,

umakar
