Hi everyone...
This is my problem:
I have slackware 10 installed on my box. Im not an expert on linux but i know a thing or two...
Anyways, Im running the 2.4.26 kernel and the rp-pppoe (version 3.5) works fine!
Im trying to migrate to 2.6.9... I compiled the 2.6.9, it took me a little to get all the right modules, but now it seems to be all set (even the sound works lol). Im using the realtek 8139 network adapter (8139too). And i know its working properly on the 2.6.9 because (if i switch the cable) i can SSH on other network machines.
BUT THE RP-PPPOE PROGRAM WONT WORK!!!
It simply shows the "." and after a while it say that could not connect.... And i've left it for more then an hour and still no deal... (on the 2.4.26 it will connect within 2 dots)....
I've tried to re-compile the rp-pppoe program on the 2.6.9 but still nothing at all...
Does anyone has ANY clue about this?????? Please, I´m really ancious to start using the 2.6.xx kernels, but without internet, no way... heheh
Thanks
Ariel
Btw - one thing that is different, on the 2.4.26, when i do a lsmod, it shows 2 modules that use the 8139too -> mii and crc32... and those modules are not shown on the 2.6.9... maybe thats a clue??? Any help is welcome
