root user

How can I be a root user to make whatever I want using KDE? I want to get access to certain files but it doesn't let me. I'm the only user of this machine and I don't care about permissions or users limitations...

Does anyone know?

Thanks

You may:
1. logoff and login as root
2. open a terminal and type: su (you will have a root terminal)
3.browse to System->More applications->File Manager-Super User Mode
4.browse to System->More applications->Terminal Program-Super User Mode

Use root only to install/uninstall software and to configure stuff.
Do not use root all the time. It's really easy to brake your System, especially if you are a newbie
Respect the permissions. Stop thinking as a Windows user.

I will second what perfect_circle has stated. Don't use the name of root in vain.
Using root only when absolutely necessary is the reason Linux is secure.

Please use the OS the way it was intended. You will be glad you did! I promise. :)
