/root/.ppprc warning

Hi,

I've installed Fedora Core 7 on my machine and want to connect to BSNL ADSL modem using PPPoE connection. But I'm not able to connect it as always it shows connection terminated in messages log on server. Either this modem works fine on another FC3 machine which I'm access for net in local LAN. Also I'm getting one warning message that /root/.ppprc permission denied.

I've created another PPP connection and during that connection I'm getting the following error while restarting the network, -

==========================================
Shutting down interface eth0: [ OK ]
Shutting down interface eth1: [ OK ]
Shutting down loopback interface: [ OK ]
SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device
Bringing up loopback interface: [ OK ]
Bringing up interface eth0: [ OK ]
Bringing up interface eth1: [ OK ]
Bringing up interface BSNL: /usr/sbin/adsl-start: line 217: 16401 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" > /dev/null 2>&1
[FAILED]
==========================================

Also checking the pppoe-status I'm getting this error, -

pppoe-status: Link is down (can't read pppoe PID file /var/run/pppoe.conf-pppoe.pid.pppoe)

Please assist me where I'm doing wrong.

Thanks.

Ashwin.
