How do I know my root password in Ubuntu?

Welcome to LQ!!

By default, Ubuntu does not use the "root" account. Anything requiring root privileges is doen using "sudo".

You can enable the root account by entering:
sudo passwd root

You'll be prompted for your regular user password, then the new root password.
