root password


i have forget my rhel root password how can i get my password back

Have you ever started your system in single user mode before? Unless grub is locked you can select your kernel line, press 'e' to edit, and type 'single' after the kernel line and boot. You will be brought to the command line with root privileges wherein you can change the password. Read more detailed description here:
