root partition mounting error
 

When i boot slack 9.0 i get a problem mounting my root partition, neadless to say you cant get around it. You get the option to log in as root in the command prompt and fix it from there, i was whondering if there is any way to by pass the progress bar on start up or forcefully mount the partition.

when something like this happens to me, knoppix is allways usefull. it boots up a GUI for me to use while my system is down. and it allows me to mount / fix my partitions.

id suggest you fix the problem, instead of just stepping round it :)
