Unhappy Root of Previously Installed System not found

I am trying to Upgrade from Fedora 12 to Fedora 13 using Preupgrade. My system downloads the the Upgrade and tries to install it but returns a message "Root of the previous system not found". I would really like to fix this problem but dont know how and would appreciate some help please"
