Root Directory for domain in VS-ftpd!

Hello :)!

I have just started working on vsftpd configurations.I have an assignment to work only and only with vsftpd.conf to perform the following tasks:

1. To access the system on local network by domain.com.

I have done it by declaring domain.com in hosts file with the same address as that of my system over the network i.e. 192.168.0.102.

2. To allocate a root diretory to domain.com, so that whoever logins through domain.com, he lands on domain.com home directory.

I can't findout how to do this.

3. To create virtual users for this site, who can login domain.com and land on its home directory and can access it.

I know how to create virtual users for my vsftpd, but don't know how to specify them with particular domain.

If anyone can help me with this.I'll be very thankful

ftp is not the best choice to be doing this sort of thing locally.

your permissions need to be aligned with the diretories-- if this should work at all (remember, ftp is an internet protocol, not a local one.) hence it is ALMOST impossible to do local transfers.. and when you can, it is a heartache :(

you really should convince your boss of this.
