rodent troubles . . .
Dear all,
Fired up my installation of Mandrake 7.2 the other day. Wanted to get NIC card working. Ran kudzu from a console. It didn't find the newly installed NE2000 card (another story), but did mention something about a new PS/2 mouse. I don't have a PS/2 mouse (its a serial one on ttyS0) so blindly agreed to delete the settings. Now the poor little rodent is frozen on the spot (centre of screen). If I look in /dev, I've got: mouse -> psaux mouse1 -> ttyS0 /etc/X11/XF86Config pointer section seems OK [am not in front of machine right now so can't post it . .] Can anyone give me some pointers (excuse pun) as to how to completely remove the serial mouse settings and start from scratch? Regards Mark |
Well, psaux is the device name for a ps/2 mouse, so if you delete the symlink from mouse to psaux and create a new one from mouse to ttyS0 it might do the trick...
Can't garuantee it though.... |
Thanks, did try that, but it didn't seem to help. Also noticed that a reboot reset the symlink mouse -> psaux. If I assume that the devices are set up properly, can I test to see what device is recieving input from the mouse? It was all woking fine a while ago (and the mouse itself is fine . .) ? ? ?
